Energy
The energy sector has played a central role in our firm’s history. We advise companies and associations involved in generation, transmission, distribution, trading and storage at every stage of their projects. Our work ranges from project structuring and contract negotiations to the resolution of highly complex disputes, in both advisory and litigation matters.
We have closely followed the development of Brazil’s regulatory framework over the past decades. We represent clients before the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL), the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE), the courts and arbitral tribunals. Our experience covers concessions and authorizations, economic and financial rebalancing, power purchase and sale agreements, sector charges and tariff matters. This experience has earned us a strong reputation, recognized by leading industry publications.
In the energy sector, law is closely connected with technology, economics and public policy. Each matter therefore calls for regulatory expertise, strategic insight and the ability to anticipate risks. Throughout our nearly seven decades in practice, our firm has combined a strong tradition in Administrative Law with a contemporary understanding of business. This allows us to guide clients through the sector’s major challenges, including the energy transition, the expansion of renewable energy and storage, the opening of the free energy market, grid modernization and electromobility.
Whatever the matter, our work in the energy sector is guided by three pillars: excellence, commitment and innovation.
